Why we're building NutriHygiene
Every popular nutrition app treats our food as an afterthought. Search for daal and you get “lentil soup, 1 cup.” Search for biryani and you get five contradictory entries, none measured, all in grams nobody uses. The message underneath is quiet but clear: this wasn't built for you.
We think Pakistanis deserve nutrition tools built around how we actually eat: the katori, the roti count, the shared pot, the chai that punctuates the day, the dawat on Sunday. Not a translated diet culture that treats our table as a problem to be escaped.
So we're building it: a measured Pakistani food database, a mobile app that tracks meals in real portions, and free tools (like the diet plan and calculator on this site) that give honest numbers before asking anything of you.
What we believe
- Help before selling. The database, the calculator, and the diet plan are free, no account needed.
- Honest numbers, honestly sourced. Every figure links to how it was measured, and when we get one wrong, we correct it and say so.
- No fear, no shame, no miracle promises. Food is not a moral test. Consistency beats perfection.
- Pakistan first. Built here, for here, from the portions to the language to the load-shedding-proof app.
Where we are
The mobile app is live with food logging, meal plans, an AI nutrition assistant, water tracking, and streaks. This website is young and growing; new foods are added every week. If something you eat is missing, tell us and it moves up the list.
